Geosynthetics for Civic & Landscaping
Geofabrics offers a range of engineered slope, embankment and retaining wall solutions used to construct civic and landscaping projects.
Our team also has extensive experience in developing temporary and permanent erosion control measures which have been proven in to prevent erosion and encourage revegetation in the harshest of conditions.

APPLICATIONS
Reinforced Slopes & Retaining Walls
Verti-Block is a perfectly proportioned concrete block that is used in landscaping projects including residential communities, commercial campuses, schools, parks, backyards, and more. Consider Verti-Block for applications such as gravity or retaining walls, terracing, base for fencing or railings and property dividers. Verti-Block is a popular favourite for its rockwork appearance. It makes a finished wall appear more like stacked stone. Plus, it is easily stained to complement its surroundings with a beautiful, weather and UV-resistant finish.
For slopes up to 70°, gabions can accommodate substantial differential settlement. The mesh baskets interlock to form a monolithic structure that form a single, permeable unit, making it well-suited for high-stress hydraulic applications.
For reinforced slope systems and mechanically stabilised earth (MSE) walls, Geomesh offers a versatile, modular solution that can be more cost-effective than mass gravity gabion walls, due to faster installation times and reduced rock fill requirements.
Where vegetation is required, Geomesh Natural allows the front face of MSE slopes and embankments to be filled with soil and planted, creating a stable, green wall.
Erosion & Sediment Control
Erosion performance on dry land slopes with vegetated cover can be significantly improved through various geosynthetic solutions. One such option is Grassroots, a synthetic erosion control matting specifically engineered to endure high-velocity water flow.
In cases where there is insufficient soil depth to support vegetation, the Geoweb geocell system can be used. It can be filled with soil and planted to provide effective slope stabilisation.
As an alternative to non-structural shotcrete for mitigating surface erosion caused by weathering, runoff, and environmental degradation, Concrete Canvas offers a durable, long-term solution.
Embankments
When constructing embankments over soft ground, there is often a risk of foundation failure if the shear strength of the underlying soil is exceeded.
Geofabrics offers a range of soil reinforcement solutions, including Mirafi PET woven geotextiles, which can be installed at the embankment base to enhance stability and reduce settlement timeframes.
Hydraulic Engineering & Structures
Geofabrics’ Geomattress rock mattresses and Gabions provide durable, hard-armour solutions for hydraulic applications such as weirs, as well as for scour protection along riverbanks and to support embankment stability in channel linings.
For vegetated hydraulic structures, including drainage ditches, spillways, and vegetated channels, the combined use of Geoweb, an expandable three-dimensional synthetic cellular structure filled with soil, and Grassroots, a synthetic turf reinforcement mat, offers strong resistance to high shear forces and prolonged flow velocities.
For ditches and channels requiring a permanent lining solution, Concrete Canvas offers a highly efficient alternative to traditional concrete. It enables installation rates up to 10 times faster, with speeds of up to 200 m² per hour achievable using a three-person crew in a longitudinal layup.
Water Storage Lining
Water hazards and ornamental lakes enhance the character of parks, golf courses and other recreational areas. These ponds have to be designed to blend in with the surroundings which requires the use of products that meet the technical requirements for water storage without detracting from the aesthetic appeal within a landscaped area.
Geofabrics’ Elcoseal Geosynthetic Clay Liner is ideally suited for lining ponds as it offers an easy to install solution with easy laying to match almost any pond profile.
Stormwater Management
Due to a continued increase of global temperatures, we are all constantly faced with reducing demand on potable water sources for irrigation of gardens.
An underground modular water storage system such as the Atlantis Flo-Vault offers an effective solution which uses surface and underground infiltration techniques, resulting in clean water that can be re-used or allowed to re-enter the natural water system.
Subsoil Drainage
Subsurface drainage and water removal is critical in maintaining structural integrity and reducing deterioration.
Megaflo Green is an alternative to conventional, round agi drain pipe that collects and removes water rapidly due to its unique flat shape and ribbed profile. It provides the dimensional stability and field-proven structural strength for quick, effective subsurface drainage.
Compared to 100 mm diameter round agi pipe, Megaflo Green drains water up to 4.9 times faster. Its slim 40 mm wide profile permits faster and more cost-effective installation in a narrower trench.
