GEOSYNTHETICS FOR EMBANKMENTS

When constructing embankments over soft ground there is often a risk of foundation failure if the shear strength of the foundation material is exceeded. 

Geofabrics provides a range of soil reinforcement solutions including Solmax Mirafi PET woven geotextiles which can be placed at the base of the embankment to improve stability whilst reducing settlement timeframes.

For embankments that need to accommodate higher loads or steeper slopes, reinforced soil systems or high-strength geogrids can be used to increase stability.

To construct mechanically stabilised embankments that require vegetation, the front face of a wire mesh system can be filled with soil and planted to create a green wall.
